Philanthropic Computer School |

Computers are presently a luxury item in Kenya, and well beyond the reach of the average Kenyan, especially the young.
Furthermore, computer training is costly. Yet any developing nation has a real need to train its young in computer skills.
Early in 2002, again with the assistance of our Orthodox friends in Australia, and with the blessings of Metropolitan Makarios, a computer school was inaugurated by the Saint Clement of Alexandria Philanthropic Education Centre, in Nairobi.
Over the last few years hundreds of students have been trained, free of charge, by qualified university–trained instructors, and with access to the latest types of computers, including laptop computers.
In this way, the Church in Kenya is preparing and equipping young people, with a very important and employable skill, which is in great demand in Kenya. The employment opportunities of our graduates are very high. As in the Tailoring School, these young people are also guided on the path of Christ, and taught the necessary moral values, to protect them from the various temptations, which afflict young people everywhere. Furthermore, seeing the love which the Church is showing them, many become very interested and attracted to the Orthodox Way of Christ.
